2010 NEYA Friendship Declaration

At the 2010 National Ecumenical Youth Assembly of the National Council of Churches in India, delegates signed a Declaration considering friendship to be the new and inclusive paradigm for ecumenism. The young Christians committed themselves to friendship and unity, empowerment of the marginalised and fight against global threats like climate change, terrorism, poverty, capitalism, and nuclear weapons.

Delegates called for an understanding of God as our friend, of the earth as our friend, and of fellow beings as our friends. Download the full Friendship Declaration and Conference Report.
